While I may have been born in Minot, North Dakota, I claim Atlanta to be my real home. That said though, Atlanta isn’t really the full story. For 17 years of my life I was a resident of Peachtree City, Ga.
Peachtree City is an odd little town situated about 20 miles south-southwest of Atlanta. 36 holes of golf, very Conservative, and lots of current and former military. Growing up I always hated living there because in order to do anything you’d need to travel to Atlanta (which many parents didn’t allow) in the middle of the world famous Atlanta traffic. Peachtree City is a unique place though. Pictured below is my high school:
And below is a picture of how our Fourth of July parade generally looks:
People think it’s crazy but it does us well. Saves us some money and all of that jazz.
This post really doesn’t have MUCH of a point. Just thought it was pretty cool to see a place that I grew up in ranked number 8 in the United States. The schools are good, there’s great alternative transport (which the article doesn’t mention; you can get anywhere by golf cart.), and it’s safe.
Atlanta (or well, Peachtree City)! I knew I followed you onTwitter for a reason (other than Candice told me to)!
